Can i paint over a matt top coat?

Hi, question, ive got one of my first models really bad weathered an whould like to repaint it. However the model has a matt top coat on it. Can i just paint over? Br

Well if it is a solvent based paint you can apply nail polish remover to remove the paint. I wouldnt paint over it as to do so could glob up details (panel lines etc)

Aight, i think i will build the kit a second time, its only a hg. The effort to remove the coat and weathering seems so be bigger then the rebuild. Thank you for yor reply. Cheers
