Silver paint's a really nice touch!

Does it come with Mondo and Beecha figures that you can throw out an airlock?

    Re: Squee's Workbench

I thought maybe he meant the silver parts like the little fins on the chest. But i questioned it because that comes standard on the kit.

I got a package today from my friend Justin aka justiniusbuilds; the lupus kit i needed a vidar and an astaroth hg. Put the resin on to see how it looks.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Did a bit of a challenge to myself this afternoon. I wanted to see if i could internalize all the wiring on my K2S0 in the head. Pretty happy with this, although i damaged the lens on the left eye accidentally. I either have to try duplicating it or maybe make this one of the damaged versions.

So much masking to do!! All that detail. You will be busy with this one and the purple one. But they will be so cool standing together. (who's name I don't remember and to lazy to look back and refresh my memory.)

^This. I'd add that its the 1/100 scale plastic version from the Volks IMS line.

@Auto, luckily, this plastic one has plenty of part separation, so its not as bad as the KAN's. Alot of the details are roughly straight lines too, so its less stressful. XD

Probably my least favorite thing about these kits, they use polycap plastic for parts like the hoses... screw that noise.

I am replacing the ones on the forearms. I lose one bead but this makes painting so much easier. I made some for the ones that go from the elbow to the shoulder out of plastic tube, but i'm going to just go with metal ones so that they match the same style.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

That does seam kind of crappy to make them out of polycap plastic. So they are all soft and bendy, but like you said a paint in the A$$ to paint, and make it look good.I like the metal up grades much better.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

I think they make the cables polycap so that they can bend when you pose the arms... That being said, i don't really see a need for it as the articulation is pretty bad.

Here's what i mean... This is some AMAZING articulation (eyeroll) lmao

I only really figured i should look after i remembered that there is a poly cable on the back of the knee. I replaced them with metal like on the forearms. I can't find 2.5mm diameter metal beads, so my friend is sending me some kotobukiya bead sets in that size. They wont be metal, but once painted it wont matter.

Playing around with colors for the Batsh. I wanted a black with a blue tint.

These were my test spoons. Different types of black with pearl blue over them. Anything more than a quick pass of the pearl totally removes the black.

Finally i figured it out i think. I mixed my metallic black with mr. surfacer black to tone down the pigment. Still to much, but then i added some the pearl directly to the mix.
Now it has a nice toned down metallic black, but still has a blue tint. I am super happy with how this looks!

    Re: Squee's Workbench

You did just what I was going to say. Mix the pearl in with the paint. I did that with my Banshee and it came out great! with the pearl mixed into the paint it gives a deeper feel to the sparkly effect that the pearl gives off. You are right that black pearl looks great. The last thing I did was a very light misting of a clear white pearl when I was done with the paint and decals then I did a top coat. it helped merge the decal lines into the model and made them look like the were part of the paint job, not just warnings randomly put on a suit by a tech.
