    Re: Squee's Workbench

Thanks. I really wanted to see how the fencing looks, so i did the front gates. Something else to note, i had to cut them apart and cut off one edge because i didn't account for the space needed for the hinges. I fixed it and i think it actually looks better with one bar instead of 2 glued together.

Just an add observation, or opinion, but why do you have the fence going all the way around the square? If it has a gate it is most likely a check point in to or out of some place. It is just a bit odd to be a fences in square protecting???? I would have left one side open so it looks like the "base" keeps going behind them or something. Other than that I think it looks great I like the upgrades you did to the GM.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Yea i thought about that as well. I was going to leave off probably the back, and maybe one of the sides. But then you have the counter argument that then the gates are too close together. At least now i can just say, "hey that looks cool" LMAO Plus it can be used for other kits. XD

    - - - Updated - - -

So... i've been snapping the RG GP01Fb at work, and i think i learned a lesson. Never throw away a runner until the kit is finished. This is what i usually do, but i was trying to be organized at work due to space, so i threw away the A runner when i was finished with it. I normally check every number to make sure that slot is empty... but i guess i was rushing. My kit is complete... minus the clear parts for the shoulder camera's and the bicep armor LMAO

Just got the go ahead from a friend who is sending me those parts. XD

This kit is just fiyah! Nothing but fun, unlike the waist issue i had w/ the red frame.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Didn't you fix your red frame? I had an issue with the red frame waist falling apart, but it is a super easy fix. Then it becomes really solid.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

If you just google red frame waist issues, you'll see a bunch of posts w/ people having issues. Its a defect of the molding process i think. Pretty sure its that lacking tab inside the slot that is almost non existent on mine. On the gold frame, its nice and tight.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

OK. I just found I was putting the waist part in backwards, once I turned it around it clicked in and is now really solid. I had no issue with the blue or gold frame thou you right about those two.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Yea i tried switching it around as well. I think the issue is this tab right here. It doesn't grab that well. On my red frame, it was almost nonexistent. Almost like the mold didn't fill up fully when the plastic was added.

^Glad your acct got added. I tried, but the admin panel for me doesn't have a save feature for any changes lol I wonder if what i did made the change or not.

    Started frame painting!

Mainly Magnesium, my go to color, and some stainless steel. Also some Candy base for the candy yellow on the piston tubing.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Still working on the GM, i don't want to do the main color yet until i finalize 2 more parts. Started working on this today, added the led, cleaned up the nubs/gouges from the factory, and am just working on storing a battery in the base. Currently waiting on glue and epoxy putty to cure on that. Then its just some sanding the edges down and i can start painting!

Also, my texture paint came in the mail. It seems like its a hand painting variety of paint, but hiding brush strokes as a bit much. Then i remembered that i have an external feed airbrush that i bought just for times like these!

I do regret painting the inside first. I don't really want to mask over this stuff for the edges... i fear it might just lift off. :/ Guess i'll just use something like cardboard to just protect it from over spray. I also highlighted some area's with a lighter grey, and then just used some wash to make a simple oil stain. More once this paint cures overnight.

This weather is so nice, no moisture in the air and cool enough that my compressor doesn't get hot fast.

Got a ton of painting done today.

What scale is that Zaku bust? Is it a Bandai kit? I like it. The paint looks really cool also.
