    Re: Squee's Workbench

I will do no such thing sir. Anyone who refers to themselves as a made up cannon fodder robot gets no leniency from me.

The pistons are just chrome with a few layers built up of hotmetal blue. I always prefer to use the Alclad hot metals, as you get more control over the depth of the color.

I only use tamiya masking tape. I've always had issues with other kinds. I only used the blue tape to cover larger areas to save on Tamiya.
Same here I use the blue tape only when I have to. But I have a boat load of the tamiya tape, it is really good tape. Thanks for the feed back I will just keep practicing my masking. The problem is I get frustrated and a bit bored and then the crap happens.

I've never gotten the hot metals to look right. I've tried blue and red.

Applied some static winter grass. It was a learning experience, i think i'm going to redesign my applicator. Its not giving the best field. I also learned that thicker glue gives better clumping. It doesn't really matter though, its all getting covered in snow, but i wanted grass underneath.

I remember you saying that you wanted a DLP printer. So, I was wondering which specific model of DLP Printer do you want (e.g. the Uniz Slash+)?

    Re: Squee's Workbench

I was just thinking. Good thing you put the grass down first. That way when you make the scrapes in the ground from him setting up his "Hide" the grass will show under just like it would in real life. I see some dioramas with a set up that looks like the MS was just dropped into the scene with no trails or markings of how he got there or set up. But you got that covered! (see what I did there, you got it covered LOL)

This is looking really cool so far. Is the generator, equipment, or the sniper going to have snow on them as well? It would be Kind of cool to show that he has been there for a while waiting for his target.

When you absolutely have to overcompensate lol

I still have to paint a few spots but i'll wait for the camo layers to cure overnight to be safe.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Thanks! I was basically done, but some of my old masking lifted a bit so i have to remask and touchup some grey and white.

I'll probably knock that out tomorrow. Gotta figure out what decals i want to use.

Finally got some replacements for the ugly poly piping. Looks much better. And now this kit is totally ready for painting lol I'll start after i finish the GM and the KAN.

I was trying to think of a kit to take to work to mess with during downtime. I took this old beauty out from my stash a few hrs ago and gave it a heavy primer coat with filler primer. I figure, i need to basically check every line on the wings, etc, so this would be a good one to take. Especially with the movie finally coming out!

Best part about a snow day... Decals and basic lining done! I need to tweak the power cables a bit still.

    Re: Squee's Workbench

Thanks! I had to do some cleaning as my table was getting pretty bad. I figured i should see how it looks on the base/make some marks in the snow.

I need to adjust it and do some comparisons to my initial posed pics. This will just about fit on one of my display shelves XD

HA HA! I just noticed this. His knees looks like they have a happy face on them! Happy hunting.
