    PG Zaku wip

Been working on this off and on for awhile. Using the hairspray technique for paint chipping. So far Iím liking the effect.

Looks really sharp. What shade are you using for the inner frame color?

    Ya what he said.

Chipping Hell! Looks like someone never went to the Mech Shop for some good old PM> LOL Looks great, nicely done.

It has been a while since you last poked your head in here. How have you been? The last thing we saw from you was that beautiful Sazabi build.

Thanks. The frame is painted with Metalizer exhaust buffing paint, and the base coat of the armor is metalizer titanium buffing paint.

Sorry for the lack of posts life just got busy so I had no time to work on the kit. I do have a MG Jesta and MG Gera Doga waiting in the wings.

What life got in the way?? That is weird. It's almost as if real life is important or something. It's all good life grabs us all by the neck and shacks us up a bit sometimes.

Did you happen to prime the parts with anything before spraying the Metalizer onto them?

Always use primer. I use Vallejo grey primer.

Interesting. I've always heard that Metalizer is made to be used on bare plastic. However I have found that it can greatly affect the integrity of the plastic. Have you ever had any ill effects using it on primer?

Nope never had a problem with it. The trick is to be light handed when buffing it and seal it as soon as your done. Otherwise it can rub down to the primer. I have played around and used a silver base coat that way if I go a bit to hard the silver shows through on the edges giving it a scratched/ nicked metal look.

Wow. That leg frame looks gorgeous.
Pro tip for fixing seam lines: It rubs the puddy on its seam or else it gets the hose again.
