No. Both the original MSG and Gundam X got reduced episode runs by 13 and 10 episodes respectively due to very low viewership, but no Gundam series has ever been outright cancelled to my knowledge.

I highly doubt Divers itself will be cancelled, but I do worry we might not see a Build TV series again for a while because of Sunrise fearing low ratings.

    Re: Gundam Build Divers

I do not know a lot about how ratings, and common viewership in Japan works exactly but I do see that most of the worst Gundam series (as I hear claimed not even necessarily my opinion) tend to be whenever they go "kid friendly" the original Gundam, Zeta Gundam, G, Wing, all the UC OVA's/Films basically all did well enough, and have mostly crafted the opinions of long term fans, even 00 and IBO, all of these are political, ideological, story driven (well except G lol), and more aimed at the young adult audience. It seems whenever they aim for a younger viewership they tend to stumble because that is just not their core audience they really need to stop dumbing down their shows, and write them at the level expected of their actual audience. Do they think it is 6 year olds buying Gunpla by the truck loads? I love the original Build Fighters it was well written, paced, had cool mecha designs, reworks designs, and brand new designs. The fights were also very fun. The story was simplified enough that anyone looking in of any age could really grasp it, and then it was filled with bright colors, and designs. They targeted young audiences in a way that did not shun their entire core audience (keeping in mind not everyone loved the series of course but it did well enough).

That was a more enjoyable episode than the last one. And not just for the swimsuits; the fights were entertaining, too. Still, the series seems to be meandering around a bit, especially with teaser for the next episode.

Can't help but feel they're teasing us with the reappearance of the Desperado Tequila, and maybe subtly hinting we're not getting an HG...

Easily one of the best episodes so far IMO. Riku's relationship with Tigerwolf always felt more natural than with the other elite players. It was cool to see the Jiyan Altron finally go all out since it really hasn't had a full fight really until now.

Seeing as how they emphasised the whole "repaying the kindness", I was surprised they actually let Tigerwolf win in the end. Though it was kind of a pyrrhic victory since Riku's special move beat Tigerwolf's and Riku abandoned all his ranged weapons to fight close quarters to make it "fair".

Looks like this "Raid Battle" thing is going to be the climax judging by how much they're referencing it coming closer. I imagine Riku might have a brief rematch with Tigerwolf and surpass him properly then.

It was certainly more entertaining than the last episode, but I'd still give it a solid meh. Just doesn't have the energy like the previous series had. With only one exception being the episode where he fights No Name astray.

That G5 Challenge was cool. RX-78, Mk. II, Zeta, ZZ and Hi-Nu against a single custom gunpla. I'm surprised they didn't attack all at once. That would've been epic.

Well, not what I'd call a great plot advancement, but this episode was still very entertaining. Or maybe it was the fanservicey nature of it...

Either way, the mystery is solved as to the origins of that bike accessory, and why it looks like crap! lol

And it seems that they are quite aware that Gunpla is addictive, what with the name of the sponsor, the Sazabi in particular. Looks like Nami may be the next victim to fall to the addiction...

Doth my eyes deceive me? Sarah was actually useful for once?

Nanami is competing for best gal alongside Ayame for me.

Also the Chester'guy reference was appreciated, I hear the band members of LP are fans of Gundam. <3

Anyways, looks like next week we'll finally learn the secrets behind Sarah...

Yes Linkin Park are gundam fans. That is actually a reenactment of the Japanese special edition cover for the A Thousand Suns album. Which was released for Gundams 30th Anniversary with a special edition GPo1

Sunrise really teasing us with that cameo of the "Second Victory" Gundam. (It's first ever animated appearance in fact)

You can take that heresy elsewhere! Ayame for life.
