What is with the constantly changing price with Gunpla?

Has anyone else noticed the almost outrageously none constants in Gunpla prices?

These model kits change prices almost daily. Even during the Black Friday sale all they were offering was a 10% off. But the prices were almost 20% higher from the day before.

In one day a model kit can fluctuate on price by up to $5.

Is this Normal for Gunpla? It makes it hard to bit the bullet and buy when you are constantly thinking this is higher than it was. I think I remember them being there cheapest around Aug. Like almost $10 less than what they are now.

It's due to the exchange rates. Those can change on a daily basis, if not more so.

    Never thought about that.

    Guess that makes sense.

The only place I've seen abnormal prices is on Amazon. Every other place that I shop hasn't had any substantial price change.

Where do you guys buy your kits? I mainly look at Amazon for the free shipping but as it was pointed out there prices fluctuate so much its very frustrating.

Shipping charges are really killing me. Even with a 10% off your still paying more just for the shipping cost.

I would still like to buy at-least two more kits. But I cant seem to get them for a comfortable price. And the places that do have them at retail prices all charge shipping.

Would a retail store have them at normal prices or would they still be marked up?

I tend to shop around quite a bit. Most of my local shops overcharge by a ridiculous margin. I shop through Tower Hobby, Gundam Planet, Hobby Link Japan, and USA Gundam Store are my go to shops. If I order through Amazon it is usually through a third party shop so shipping can be a bit expensive as well as can take quite awhile to get to the US.

Hope this helps some. Feel free to reach out with more questions.
