    Hello from Michigan

    Hello, my name is Steve.
I am a long time modeler, new to Gundam though. Hope to learn many things here. I like to do heavily used and worn models, sometimes ill do them bright and shiny though.
    Thanks

    Re: Hello from Michigan

Welcome, Steve, from a former Michigander! I'm a longtime modeler, gamer, and former professional miniature painter. Come on in! Snacks are on the left, meds and straitjackets are on the right, and the hobby bench is waiting! Have fun!
Why do I prefer combat over social events? Simple: in combat, if you don't know what to do, you can always open fire. That tends to be frowned upon in social events.

You know I've got a question for both of you Michiganders: Michigan State or Michigan?

Aah! A bronco. Interesting. I saw the WMU vs. USC game the other day. Man, they sent the Trojans through the wringer.

That's okay. It's not everyone. Just trying to find common ground besides Gundam, Gunpla, and model building. After all, we are super casual around here.

And that's fine. Like I said, I'm just trying to find some common ground outside of Gundam, Gunpla, and model building. It's just going to be a long process of elimination.

I appreciate that. I also do wargaming, historical, fantasy, sci fi, board games and occasional RPG. Im also an avid plastic modeler, mostly star trek, starblazers, misc sci fi, Garage Kits, and now Im catching the Gundam bug.
I like to assemble everything then take it apart, paint and weather, assemble again. I usually drill out the mounting holes for a better fit with alignment, so far most of the Ban Dai kits dont really need this done. Dioramas are what I prefer.

    Re: Hello from Michigan

Oh yeah, back in the late 80's early 90's I played quite a bit. Was thinking of going back but seems like the game gets sold and bought fairly often. I tried Heavy Gear but no one else got interested in it.

I worked for Ral Partha for the last two years before FASA shut down. Here's a small selection of my work (ignore the pics of my pets and me! LOL!)
