I feel you on that one. My poor Gundam wing zero he still isn't fully done, but I think I ended up stripping the paint off of him 3 times. But I did the hole kit with Allclad II

I used mr base white 1000..results pretty good. Not yet topcoated.

Result pretty good. When it gets it topcoat the color should be awesome

Actually today was my planning to do all white parts, but yesterday I got some problem with my cheapo compressor, the valve all of a sudden not function anymore so half day gone because of going to service centre to repair. Luckely I got guarantee and an upgraded valve was installed ..

I just finished wirh right leg.. White only

I got 2 airbrushes included with cheapo compressor, but I prefer using the one with removable container. Much easier to clean.

Some update, progress is going a bit slow but I finally get some results.

At first topcoat by airbush ruined my paint because when my compressor gets hot the airbush began to spray water, and ruined all. I had to start from scratch..

The water filter wasnt doing a good job, luckily I stumbled on a local company who made custom made air tube that will end definetly the airbrush water problem and indeed since I installed the tube nooo more water spraying.

Finaly I can get some paint spraying normaly.

B2 air tube, rescued me from dissapointing results.

I kind of had the same problem. I have a tank that my compressor fills and that is what I draw my air from. I put a vapor trap on the tank as well as the compressor and a regulator from the tank to the AB. So nice dry air and no pulsing either.

Good to know we all having the same problem..I just spend about 20bucks and problem solved

Anyways, I have finished the right leg, inner frame looking pretty nice with the black mettal finish..

And also I would like to welcome our newest member to the familie, barbatos lupus rex 1/100 full mechanics. I know its not an MG but I bought it because of the potential to custom paint this beast.

I have the same set up, but I need to get that canister... the pulsing/water problem is becoming an issue for me.

You should get the canister, it really helps. No more pulsing issues for me

    Re: Beginner Gundam collection

Ya running right off of the compressor is not a good idea. You really need a reservoir to hold built up air and use that to draw off of.

Your leg paint is great for a first time with an AB you should have seen my first attempt. I didn't take pictures because of just how bad it was. LOL

Hehe, thank you but its pretty rubbish when you compare it to the left leg which I just finished.

You can see the details because I didnt need to put extra layer paint to cover my mistakes

Look the left one compared with the right(new)

Right leg the paint is too thick.

I got some new gunpla, the amatsu mina rg and amazing strike freedom RG..

These have to wait, cause my next kit will be the hyaku shiki MG first and minor paint job. And the lupus rex no grade, with big paint job.

Looks good, nice and clean and I really like the metallic sheen. Did you use metallic paints or an additive?
