Hey everyone, any suggestions for paint brushes for weathering??? The one i have now is too thick and doesnt leave the scratching affect that my old brush used to.

Hihi you need to 'weathered' the brush first before you can use it for weathering. I still keep my older brushes that I cannot use to paint anymore for these kinda purposes. If you do not have any brushes at the moment then u need to get some and start abusing them so that you can get the effect you want.

My experience with weathering is very minor, but the how-to videos I've been watching (both gunpla-related and other model types) typically have weathering brushes that are basically old used brushes so what lgt1977 said above is a good suggestion. Cheaper too, since you're not buying anything fancy.

Small sponges can work too, depending on the effect you're looking for.

I'd say use a sponge instead of a brush for weathering. This is a video on how to weather Warhammer 40K vehicles, but the concept is the same
