It really all comes down to lighting and composition. I'm a film/photography minor so I had a lot of practice and experience from college and some small project with friends.

I would google things like 3 point lighting, rule-of-thirds, and general composition since it would take an extensive write up that probably already exists to explain all this.

All these were taken with an iPhone 7.

Ain't that the truth. I have some (amateur) photos I took of static aircraft at a museum and my best shots were ones where I had the best lighting.

I'd recommend these vids for starters; despite the channel name, they're pretty informative:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC9JwhILpa0 - This one's about lighting
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTeLbUylopI - This one's about camera functions
It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. At least, that's what I keep telling myself with all my modeling supplies...

MG 00 Raiser is complete! This was a commission piece and a fun one at that!

There's a video review at the end for anyone interested.

    Re: BigDaddyCruiser's Completed Builds!

Hey guys! So I'm finally done with my MG Perfect Gundam and I think he came out great!

I used the following colors: Tamiya british green, bright orange, italian red, german grey, gunmetal, racing white, and Testor's diamond dust for the thrusters.

I was going for a more lightly weathered look which I think came out pretty nice, but some paint here and there is a tad too thick.

I also wanted to try some texture differentiation in the finish so I painted the side canisters and backpack tank as if they were explosive red barrels from something like Crysis or HL2 and gave them a high gloss coat. I'm really pleased with them! But please let me know what you think! I always appreciate good feedback

I like your color choice, it is a bit more realistic than the colors that come with the kit. IMO Nice chipping and general all around messed up but not f**ked up look.

Thanks! Yeah I had to get rid of that original color scheme ASAP!

It's custom painted, but hasn't been modified. That is the original design.
