Hey thanks for the tip, RPC!
Still figuring out a way to strengthen the SF stand; bought some plastic "I" bars to help brace the base and going to try bracing the arm up with some leftover thin pla-plate. This should, hopefully, fix the severe wobble in it. Kinda makes you wonder why they included a stand for it in the first place if it can't support the massive weight to begin with... Though, at least they didn't make you buy it separately or through P-Bandai like with the 00 Raiser, so I guess that's something.
More to report on Project Strike. Sunday I finished the waist. I was in bad shape Monday after my doctor appointment so I didn't do any building. This morning I was in rough shape (will explain in the "Life" thread) and to help me relax after I got home, I figured I'd do a little building and built the head and the whopper Grand Slam sword. One thing I thought of when I first seen the blade for it was why couldn't they do the blades for the smaller combat knives in the same chrome plastic, instead of just having the entire knife all black? Would have looked great, and had been a hell of a lot easier. I mean, it's a Perfect Grade kit, for crying out loud!
Anyway, please enjoy the pics
According to my cutting mat, this thing is just shy of being 14 inches long! Bring the pain, Strike!
Beautiful-looking head. Interestingly, from what I can tell it's outer armor is all off-white or grayish-white plastic like many of the other armor parts. This kit has a nice two-tone look right out of the box which is cool. I'm going to paint the cannons on the side of his head, and go over the light clear blue jewels in his head with Tamiya Clear Blue to brighten them up a bit. Also have to buy a battery for the eyes.
