    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

Hey thanks for the tip, RPC!

Still figuring out a way to strengthen the SF stand; bought some plastic "I" bars to help brace the base and going to try bracing the arm up with some leftover thin pla-plate. This should, hopefully, fix the severe wobble in it. Kinda makes you wonder why they included a stand for it in the first place if it can't support the massive weight to begin with... Though, at least they didn't make you buy it separately or through P-Bandai like with the 00 Raiser, so I guess that's something.

More to report on Project Strike. Sunday I finished the waist. I was in bad shape Monday after my doctor appointment so I didn't do any building. This morning I was in rough shape (will explain in the "Life" thread) and to help me relax after I got home, I figured I'd do a little building and built the head and the whopper Grand Slam sword. One thing I thought of when I first seen the blade for it was why couldn't they do the blades for the smaller combat knives in the same chrome plastic, instead of just having the entire knife all black? Would have looked great, and had been a hell of a lot easier. I mean, it's a Perfect Grade kit, for crying out loud!

    Anyway, please enjoy the pics

According to my cutting mat, this thing is just shy of being 14 inches long! Bring the pain, Strike!

Beautiful-looking head. Interestingly, from what I can tell it's outer armor is all off-white or grayish-white plastic like many of the other armor parts. This kit has a nice two-tone look right out of the box which is cool. I'm going to paint the cannons on the side of his head, and go over the light clear blue jewels in his head with Tamiya Clear Blue to brighten them up a bit. Also have to buy a battery for the eyes.

Well, I finally managed to strengthen the stand for my PG Strike Freedom, meaning he is officially finished. Now for the fun part: trying to take pictures of his beastly ass, lol.

If you are planning to add LED's to the wings and exhaust, are you going to match the anime or go another route with colors?

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

    Adding LEDs by myself is something I have no experience in, unfortunately. The LED in the PG Strike's head came with the kit, all I did was build the casing and add the required battery. And I'm not sure what wings and exhaust you're referring to? Sorry about that ^^;

Haven't touched the Strike in a little while, as I've been bitten by the fanfiction writing bug in recent weeks, after having not written anything for about a year. Decided to finish up a story I've had unfinished for about a year. I tend to focus (read obsess) on one thing at a time, so getting it finished is where I'm at. Once it's done though, I'll be picking up with the Strike, my little Try Burning Gundam and further planning for my next project.

Also, I forgot to mention, pictures of my PG Strike Freedom are up on my thread in the Ego Zone, so feel free to take a look.

Still have to take pictures of my MG Aile Strike RM as well. Sheesh. See what I mean? Focus heavily on one thing at a time. Probably has something to do with my OCD, lol.

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

Been a while since I posted any WIPs so I figured I'd post my latest, another Hi-Nu Ver. Ka which I've been working on for a while now. But I finally managed to finish hand-painting the entire frame. Apologies for the crappish picture but I'm doing the best with what I've got. After this, I'm probably going to need another bottle of Tamiya's gun metal, lol. Anyway, here he is

The frame was painted in gun metal, with flat aluminum, gold, and chrome silver for detail. And yes, he's going to be blue ala the older MG kit, since I've done a purple one already

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

Thanks, friend I love the PGs, all that detail and all those pieces, but they sure do eat up the space!

Bit of an update. I haven't been able to spray anymore of my Hi-Nu recently due to the weather, so I'm keeping myself busy by building my HGCE Strike Freedom; all I have left to do is build the rifles and then I can start modding it. Yippee!

    - - - Updated - - -

Started work on the HG Barbatos Lupus tonight. He's my first (and maybe last) IBO kit and the build has so far felt rather different compared to what I'm used to, but I do like the amount of detail he has thus far. This is going to be an OOB build.

On the Hi-Nu 2.0 front, I'm still waiting for some decent weather so I can start spraying the armor.

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

I keep forgetting to post my WIPs on here, eep. Still working on the Hi-Nu, though mostly some last minute touch ups and decal work. Oh, and good news! With a little help, I was able to fix my broken PG Aile Striker, so now my PG Strike can finally use the damn thing (after I finished building it of course, lol)

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

With my Hi-Nu project drawing to a close (still have to add decals to the HWS), my next project came in the mail a couple days ago (well, one part of it, anyway):

The Strike +IWSP kit should be arriving soon; though I prefer the darker colors of the IWSP Strike, I'm building the Strike that came with the Launcher/Sword kit, which is a bit lighter in color. I'm going to build both Strikes first though to see which I want to make the base for my project.

Here's the L/S Strike thus far. I gotta say, I really love how sturdy he feels compared to my ver. RM Aile Strike, especially where the back and side skirts are concerned -- the side skirts on the LS actually move back and forth and don't pop off every ten seconds! And the back skirts are nice and solid as well.

    Stay tuned

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

I glued the broken piece together and then to keep it from separating whenever the mechanism moves up and down, I took a small strip of plastic, bent it around the glued pieces, and then glued it on top of the repaired parts. Dad helped me with it. So the Aile Strike pack is now safe and I don't have to get a whole Skygrasper kit for one little piece, lol.
