I see you made your choice. Were you going to get the HWS as well?

I'm kind of on the fence about the HWS. It looks cool, but as it was a Bandai web shop exclusive (as you probably know) I'm unable to get it anymore even if I wanted it. Plus I'm a tad leary about trying to get one on EBAY, as you don't know if it's legit or not; bootleggers can be damn convincing with their boxart. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid?

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

I absolutely LOVE this thing! It's already a beast in size compared to my Wing kits, lol. As for my plans, I will be doing an initial build, denubbing and sanding as necessary and identifying seams that possibly need filling. Then once he's built, I'll tear him apart and wash all the parts before painting. Speaking of painting, I'm going to be using Model Master's Plum Crazy Purple enamel for all the purple parts. I've loved this particular color for the longest time and think it would make the Hi-Nu absolutely pop. Everyone google it, it's gorgeous. Keeping with the enamel theme, I'm still looking for a very light gray/silver to use. I'm also going to be spray painting the entire frame with Tamiya's Light Gun Metal and hand painting all the small inner frame details either gold or silver. The stand that comes with the kit will also be painted in Plum Crazy.

I will also be adding new panel lines to the kit (going to buy a real scribbing tool, lol) I'm also going to be doing a full panel line wash as well - yep, no more Gundam Markers!

ETA: Earlier today I finished the body:

Did I mention I love this thing?

I am, however, a bit confused about something. On some of the parts I've encountered thus far, I've noticed these little "prong" type nubs. Here's a picture of what I mean:

See that little nub in the middle sticking out? I noticed a little snippet of information at the beginning of the manual about snipping off little nubs just like the one in the picture...so I'm guessing these little things are in fact supposed to be snipped?

Awesome. I so want to get this kit. Although, I have to finish the last Gunpla kit I bought (an RG Gundam Mk.II in A.E.U.G. colors). And to answer your question, yes that should be snipped.

    Re: XXXG-01H's Works In Progress

Trust me Zeta, you will not be dissapointed. I'm not even half way through this bad boy and I'm already loving it. Plus, I'd be lying if I said the purple didn't help influence my decision to buy this kit. It's so unique amongst gundams, you know?

Ah, so some snippage is required. I'll remember that moving forward.

The Hi-Nu will look amazing in Plum Crazy. I'm no stranger to it. I painted my MG Master Gundam with it.

The nub you mentioned is similar to what's referred to as "underpaying", I think. The instructions probably asked you to snip twice. Once from removing from the spruce and a second time to remove it in an angle that, if done properly, should help remove it from being seen, even building it just OOB.
