    Cheers Zaku.

The resin has been down 24 hours now and its still very tacky, it is in a cool room so not getting overly concerned just yet.........

Your probably right, my first time using resin so i have no idea how long 250g will take to set, the data sheet that came with it say it takes 7 days for it to fully cure,so i put thus to one side and continue with my speeder bike trooper. I picked up from eday for 9, he is missing his gun and all the other hands but for that price its still a bargain.

You used resin for the water??! WOW I just use clear silicon cock, like the kind you use to seal showers and sinks with. It is fully paintable and a lot cheaper. Plus when it is still "wet" you can move it around with the back of a spoon and make waves and ripples, then just dry brush for white caps and what not.

The benefit of resin over silicone, is aside from the clarity you get from the resin, the silicone will eventually degrade. Both in clearness and in actual stability. After a few years, silicone starts breaking down. I have kits that looked clear and sharp. Maybe 4-5 years later, and you can really see that its silicone. I was using the really nice GE Clear silicone too.

The resin is a lot easier to use than silicon, last time i tried to use silison i made one hell of a mess. The resin is not that expensive as long as you keep clear of the hobby stuff, i get mine from a compy that do a lot of boat stuff. Its only 10 for 1kg of resin and the catalyst. The only thing that is difficult to do with it is white water so im having go at topping it with mod podge.

The down side to polyester resin is it shrinks, l have just found out. I should be able to fill the gaps with more resin.

    - - - Updated - - -

I have filled the gaps with whte glue and added the water ripples to give the water movement.

Well i think this one is just about finished now, just the last bit to dry around the edges and i will taken the finished pictures.

What's another word for BAD ASS!
As for the silicon stuff, heck I learn something new everyday. I have only used it for little stuff, nothing big like this. I'm still working on my Hunter-Killer tank from Terminator and I have it driving threw a stream and I was going to use the silicon stuff, glad I said something I will go with the resin.

That water pour is epic! I've been watching a lot of Luke Towan for dio inspiration, but this is fantastic. What did you use for the ripples?

Hi Mark, just going with a RG inspired paint job, nothing fancy keeping it clean and simple.
