    Re: RPC's WIP ~ my first MG's

Thanks all. I realy like how the colours are turning out. They where inspiration from this forum, someone was making a Zaku a few weeks back in blacks and dark greys with a few purple parts and i thought it looked really good, sorry but i can find the post now.

As for the colour its lavender on the can but i sprayed in onto the yellow parts to how it would turn out, now its definitely more fuchsia now.

I have gone about the Wing build in a slightly different way, I am enjoying the build but it has been another steep learning curve for me. I was sure of the colours I was going to use and the fact that I was just repainting the parts that came on the runners a different colours I thought I would be fine to strip them of the runners, de-nub, wash, paint and then assemble, without a test build. I was wrong, it doesn’t matter how many pictures you look at, until you have built your Gundan you just don’t get a sense for the parts, how they look, feel and how they go together or interact with other parts of the model. I have had a few problems, I’ve had to fish a few small parts out on the u-bend in the sink, I have lost and found several small parts and I have had a few problems fitting parts together, some I would have glued if I hadn’t painted then and some I might repaint a different colour. I am still missing one of the small red antennas from the head that I don’t think I will find, so a small mod to the head is needed now. That sound very negative but it’s not really, I`m still really enjoying building this kit and I think it looking OK for a beginner, we will see how I get on with the finishing touches, always the hardest part of any model I think.

Next Gundam for me is the MG - Sinanju, that I will be test building before I paint him and on that subject what the hell colour is he going to be? I’m driving myself mad over what colour he should be. He is mean is red, cool in blue, awesome in white, bad ass in grey or black but I also like him in green AAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!

These are a few of my favourites; I just don’t have the skill to replicate any them.

And a load of cash and time, but very nice of you to think so.

So what colour Sinanju would you go for?

Out of those samples, to me, these three made an impression:

For me, I'd go either white or classic red.

Wow, looks great. I agree with you about the red chin. I think purple or green would look better imo. No matter, that's an awesome build and paintjob.
Feddy are you ok? So, Feddy are you ok? Are you ok Feddy? You've been hit by, You've been struck by, A smooth Zaku.

Purple or gray for the chin would be my choices. The red makes it look clown-ish, haha. Otherwise, the kit looks great with a smooth paint finish and colors that work well together.

Yeah I'd change the red as well, but the overall kit looks great. I love the coloring that you used.

    Re: RPC's WIP ~ my first MG's

Thanks all really appreciate the comments. Im going to fix that chin tonight and start the panel lining, allways a bit scary after spending the time trying to get the paint looking nice.

Just for ref as well the dark grey i have used in the Humbol Gun metal, it goes over the tamiya paint without any problems but you do have to warm it and shake the can much more than i would normally for the tamiya cans. It drys in about the same sort of time but takes much long to harden, definetly an overnight process.

Currently thinking for the Sinanju is, Tamiya TS 39 and TS 85, a two tone red effect on each part of armer.

Chin sorted now, looks much better.

Very nice colour scheme and the chin does look so much more better now.

Can't wait to see what you do on the Sinanju - as i've been eyeing this kit for a long time and sadly need to finish off my other kits first.
