Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin (May contain spoilers)

So Sunrise posted an English dub trailer of the first episode of the latest Universal Century OVA, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I.

Honestly I was caught off guard that they cast Veronica Taylor (the original voice of Ash from Pokemon) as Astraia Tor Deikun, Kirk Thorton as Ramba Ral, and Wendee Lee as Kycilla Zabi. That being said, I liked that they picked Keith Silverstein as the voice of Char Aznable as I did like his performance of Full Frontal in Gundam Unicorn. To quote Animaster on YouTube, "As much as I would have preferred that [Sunrise] bring back Michael Kopsa, [Keith Silverstein] gave a much juicier performance."

I'm loving the CGI for the MS battles. And that's coming from someone who usually can't stand the use of CGI elements in anime.

I'd have prefered Kopsa back personally.

Nothing against Silverstien's performance, and I can see why they'd bring Silverstein back (because FF was supposed to sound like Char anyways, hence why Ikeda voices both in JP) but I've always liked that they sounded similar-ish but different in English. Oh well it's no big deal.

Aside from that I'm fine with everything, and personally supprised that it's even getting dubbed in the first place, I'm sure it'll be of the same quality as Unicorn's Dub which was fantastic. And Gato as Ramba Ral is great too.

I don't know how they did it, but they made Char's Zaku better.

I feel like that rifle is supposed to be the UC equivalent of the AC's Dober Gun.

The limited edition Blu-Ray of the Origin is now available for preorder on Right Stuf and Daisuki for $100. It looks like an Aniplex of America style release in terms of extra goodies. No word on a DVD or standard Blu-Ray edition yet.

BTW, The Origin will also be available via paid streaming on Daisuki later this month.

Yep, heard about both of those. Question, will the dub be available for streaming on Daisuki?

No idea. In Unicorn's case some services had the dubbed version only, while others had the subbed version only. They might have both versions of The Origin, and they might have only one. Personally, I don't care. I've already preordered the blu-ray.

I see it more as a minaturized version of the big ass Anti Ship Cannon the Zudah had.

It's more of a cannon than a Bazooka, since as far as I know it first shells, not rockets.

I know theres difference xD. jsut saying, If Char in his zaku or Mu La Flaga in Strike fought Heero instead of Zechs, using their Rawket Lawnchers, the result would be the same.
