Three plates would make up the armor. on the outside edge i would put "C" or "L" Plata tubing and then on the top of the second and third a round solid piece of plata. Then cap off the bottom of each armor plate and then the second and third could "slide" up and down the grove or channel created by the plata tubing. Sort of a rail system.

They would stack on top of each other the bottom might be the biggest (most likely) or the top will be the biggest. Might make more sence to have the biggest on the bottom, That would give the foot rom to move under the armor.

This shows what I was talking about...well sort of. The solid bars would slide on the inside of each armor part, and I would have to make a "Stopper" at the bottom of each plate so they would only slide down so far. But gravity would keep the armor down and that would give the freedom of movement and protection at the same time.

Crap, one more Mod to do. damn I have to stop thinking of stuff that I could do with him.. Such a good problem.

Plus a type of "Hinge" to connect the armor to the leg so they can move with the foot and leg. I'm thinking another peg and grove system for that as well.

Took a break from the GM\GM and went back to the Yamato.
So far these new railings look loads better than the other ones and I can make them even without forcing them and bending them all up.
Next step is to add the Railings themselves, 0.1 MM wire is a bit touchy to work with but as long as I go slow it will go fine.

I did do one thing to help keep them all the same. I measured them out, then put down masking tape and marked the spots. Now I have a template for the other turrets so the railings will match up with each other.

Trust me I know. Two sets of magnifying glasses and still it is hard to see just what I'm really doing at times.

Yes they are so tiny, but so worth it. These are so much better than the other ones.

Here they are with most of the railings in place. I still need to add the ladders as well. But I'm at a stand still, my 0.3 drill bit broke yet again. Now I will not get the shipment of new ones until Monday so I will have to wait till then to finish the railings.

That is definitely going to keep you busy for a while GM. It's going to be well worth it.
