    What!

Me and you are going to fallout!... Lol

The spitfire, the Lightening and the F16 are what I used to love as kid and still do, I'm a child of the 80's though.

Sorry, I just don't like the Lightning. I think that, out of all the British designed planes from the Cold War, the Lightning is an ugly design. Is it fast? Certainly, but that doesn't mean I consider it my favorite.

But to me, the Electric Lightning just looks like a bad Bayformer who never finished transforming. That pushed in nose!! I know it is the intake just like the first few Jets in the 50's and what not, , but still it is the pug of the fighter world.

My brother (okier29) are having a build off. We are both building a GM/GM from build fights. Mods are a must and the end date is his birthday ish. (I got the kit late in the mail so the end date was pushed back 6 days)

Well I have started and posted in the Facebook group, still waiting to see what he has done. It should be good. But here is some of what I have so far.
I have a bunch of weapons and other stuff in my parts drawer so adding I will do! I took parts from the Blue Destiny, I think it was a full armor Gundam, and even some frame parts from a few Revoltech figures. This first snap fit was done at my Gundam Build club. Which is really a cool thing. My hobby shop closed about a month ago. Well the local Game shop took up the empty notch and is now selling models and more paints. Plus the guy who was in charge of the old shop was given a job here now and he has started all kinds of new things. But this is a game shop so they have a huge room set up for table top games. Well Monday nights we started a Gundam club. We just build and share ideas and BS each other. It’s really cool to build with other guys, not just at the house with the T.V. We even have a couple kids building! One is only 10 any ways back on topic.

The blue shoulder shield, yes I have spikes for it as well.

In the pictures I only have 1 of the belts for the Gatling guns, I have one for each side. I’m still repairing/building the second belt. Also the “ammo box” will be cut way down. This is just a snap/tape build to see if I like it or not. I do like it.

I have a really cool mod, but the 5 picture limit has stopped me at this point. So I will save that for the next post.

Plus I have redone the head unit. I don't like the options they give for the head so I will be combining a couple of the heads together to make the one I do like.

And I still have to work on the backpack. I have a few I'm working with to make one that will look good. I need some sort of thrusters for this so he can at least jump, I have a thought for the legs as well this might not be the final mode for them. Thinking of putting a few thrusters on the legs as well, we will see. Full flight thrusters might go past the elusive "To much crap" point on him.

That's gonna look neat when you finish it. How is the GM/GM overall though?

The base kit is actually really good. Well for a Feddy that is. But it is a blank canvas to build on.

Well here is the Mod I wanted to show you all.

I wanted better articulation so I had to rebuild the joints. I had an idea and went with it. It is working out really well so far. I have a bunch of joints from Revoltech! I’m still reworking the armor to fit closer to the round joint, but it is getting there.

This is the new movement I got out of the new joints

This is the original Bandai joints.

    Original movement for the ankle.

    New joints ankle movement.

And this is how much movement I can have leaning with the new joints. Yes the top armor is at a weird angle, but that is because of the way it is laying on the bench.

More to follow. I made a new waist section as well.

Yes the nubs. Like I said this is the first “snap” build part. Still not really sure if these are the bottoms of the legs I will be using. I will get all the nuns taken care of when I get to the actual assembly faze of the build.

Now to do the waist section. I will get more pictures of the actual build/brain storming part latter tonight. Right now I have the “semi” finished joint for the waist.
I took 2 joints and 2 Polly caps. Cut the Polly caps down by half, but I also cut them In half across the “nub” that sticks out so when I put the 2 Polly caps together they made 1 “nub” I then used that to go in the hole that was there for the original peg. Then I put the joints in and now I have a full mobility waistline.

In this picture you can see how I have started shape the leg armor to better fit the round joint of the Revoltech. It is slowly coming together.

Thanks! But I’m a nob with this like most of us here. This is technically my first actual real “Modification “ of a Gundam.

Also there is armor that goes around the ankles. Right now they limit the movement of the new ankle joint. I’m in the process of making the front of the ankle armor on a hinge so it will swing forward when the leg goes down so I can keep the full range of movement in that joint. And I’m also looking at adding a bit more armor up the back of the calf to help cover the weak spot in the joint. That will be something really cool if it works out in real life like it does on paper. So I won’t jinx myself just yet. . Next I have to do the arms and waist/chest area. This is getting very intricate for a simple competition build. But I have wanted to do a real Mod kit for a while now, and his challenge made me step up my game. Kind of called my hand, so I took the plunge and went for it. Then I figured in for a penny in for a dollar, might as well go all the way and see who we’ll i do.

Not a bad idea. Hummmmmm ligaments and tendons......I have very small springs and fine wire line. Let me look into that. But really that would be a B***H to do on 1/144th scale, but not a bad idea. Skeleton Gundam.

Here is how I made the waist work. At first I had a few “miss haps” but I got it to work out.

First I cut the pegs down so together they are the length of the original single peg.

Then I cut 2 Polly caps down to make one Polly cap. I tried to use just one Polly cap, but of all the extras I had none worked. Most Polly caps have The connecting nub at the end not the center like I needed it to be.

Now the Polly cap fits in the corresponding whole that the original peg attached to.

And now I have a full 360 Degree waist section to attach the legs to.

I have a tiny bit of trimming left. If you look the right one is a tad bit longer than the left. I have to get it down to the same size otherwise the legs will not be symmetrical and off by a tad as well. Can't have that.

I can finally get back to work on the Spacebattleship Yamato! The railings I had were OK. But they still just needed so much work to make them fit right or look right. And the actual “railing” part still looked like flat PE SO I found these and now I can make the railings just how I want them. And make them look like they were actually built for the section they are on. These are a bit of work, but they will look so much better. I can actually make real railings!
