Great detail painting. I thought the purple was plastic.

Will have the Sengoku Astray up on here soon. Let me know if you encounter any problems. IE none of my photos are showing up or something.

How's the backpack on that X-1? I've worked on the MG version before and I found it to be kinda finicky. Had to use a few layers of clear coat to give the thruster joints more friction.

I have not had many problems with the thruster joints popping off on me. Though I have had a few problems with the waist and that is just from me moving it wrong and it pops off.

Good work on the kit. The red parts look textured. Is that the due to the parts or the paint?

    Re: Futubaaoi's finished kits

it is due to the paint. I did nothing to the parts to texture it. I thought it was a interesting look. So I went with it.

I am not a fan of the Astray kits but you did real nice job with it.

    HGAW Gundam X Divider RT

I totally thought I had cleaned the edge of the shield up but looks like I goofed and missed it.

Good job on the X-Divider overall. Sucks to see the numerous paint chips, though. The finish on the gray areas could be smoother too. Were you painting on bare plastic?

    Re: Futubaaoi's finished kits

It was also a bit due to the top coat I used on it. I probably should get one those acrylic top coats mostly. The gray is a vallejo paint. I kee thinking even though it has not been the case, I would run into no issues with the acrylic paint since I never had issues with the model master acrylics and a then using the testors dullcote. I will just have to touch it up again soon. Yes, it was bare plastic but I clean it before I paint. Also once again due a previous paint experience as well.

Thanks for liking that Sengoku Astray btw, guys.

    Re: Futubaaoi's finished kits

Ah, I see. I had similar issues when I was painting Vallejo on bare plastic. The stuff just isn't that tough compared to Model Masters Acryl. You'll have it much easier once you're ready to add primer to your paint process.

I am not sure which primer does best on gunpla. Do the tamiya primers obliterate the plastic on 1/144 scale kits?

    Re: Futubaaoi's finished kits

Nope, Tamiya primer works perfectly fine on any scale kit without any negative effects and it happens to be good quality primer too so if you can score some of that at affordable prices, go for it.
