    Re: Latest Kit Acquisitions!

Due to a mistake in shipping address my HG Hashmal ended up out here. I guess it's not a bad thing but if I can't acquire/find any of the proper tools to build it with it'd be a temporary problem. I'd just to have to wait for the mail people to get out here so I could ship it home. However, if there are the right tools here I can build it out here, unfortunately it'd also have to stay out here though.

As much as you hate it, having a gundam and not being able to build it. I would wait till you are home and have all of your proper stuff and do it right.

List of things to do today. 1. Get a sword. 2. Name it Kindness. 3 Kill people with Kindness.

Well, we do have tools out here, there are probably dikes and I already have a file (multitools are useful), so I could definitely build it well out here. I just wouldn't be doing any panel lining (not that I ever have yet) or custom painting. That and if I need to I could order tools and get them sent out here, which means I could do panel lining for it. The thing I'm worried about is how much it'd cost to get it sent home should I not build it, I don't imagine it'd be incredibly cheap. Plus it might be nice to leave something behind here, as a little memento of my time here. I dunno, I have time to think about it though.

Out of curiosity why would you have to leave it behind? If it is a HG you can take it apart arms, legs body, that type of thing wrap them in with your socks and they would fit nice and safe in a seabag. I have done it so I know it works.

I thought about getting those, but I had a bad motivator so I never got around to it......

They aren't exactly the most gentle when it comes to handling the bags, however that's a good idea, so I might not have to leave it behind. Though obviously the Hashmal is a bit bigger than most other HG models since it is a Mobile Armor. I could probably find a way to transport it back home if I build it out here. It'd be better than spending another 40 dollars on another one too. Thanks for the idea, I appreciate it.

No problem. I had the same issue I had a couple kits travel vea seabag and they were fine. But like I said I wrapped them up in my socks and tee shirts then made sure that they were near the middle of the bag. That way when the threw them on the transport of threw them into the belly of the plane the kits were fine. And as you know when I say they threw them, I mean they THREW them! LOL

Oh trust me, I know they're wicked careless with the bags. People ended up here with broken laptops and other electronics since they just threw them around. Hopefully I can allocated enough room to pack it up (could barely close one of my bags). Unfortunately it'll only be a straight assembly until I get the Gundam markers I just ordered. At least then I can add panel lining and make it stand out more.

    Re: Latest Kit Acquisitions!

Latest monthly delivery from USA Gundam Store arrived early. Still no UC kits, but I'm guessing there's some kind of distribution deal with Blue Fin to push what's more popular in the US or something. A couple of IBO kits I'm really not disappointed with, though I think a Full City would've been more appropriate given the kit it's paired with. Definitely think one of the IBA sets with the Rebake's axe would've been a better add on than the Universal Unit Wing Zero EW (which is my least liked version of Wing Zero); I mean, really, a gun and a shield, nothing else on a kit with 4 arms?! Metal piping parts are pretty neat, but overall, this is probably about the weakest delivery value-wise. Just running a quick check, I can get everything that arrived today on their site for right about the total $34 it cost for this delivery. The Universal Unit thing isn't listed on their site, but I'm counting it as about $5-$6. Definitely a few bucks short of the $40 value they sold this sort of thing as, unless they're going by their non-discounted prices (pretty sure when I calculated previous deliveries prices were right around $40 total WITH their current discounts), which seems a bit shifty. So thinking this may be the last one of these monthly boxes I'll be getting; MIGHT consider one more just to see if its a fluke, but I dunno. We'll see.

It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. At least, that's what I keep telling myself with all my modeling supplies...
