Re: LED and Scratch Build How To

Figured i should share this here. My friend did a really cool mobius cylon raider with the roving led's. His friend did the lighting for him, and i was curious as to how hard it would be to do. Think of the lights from K.I.T. from knight rider, for those old enough to remember that awesome show lmao

I found this site with a bunch of led projects, and figure i would share. A guy in a lighting fb group did a test for the power source circuits, found some issues, but this should be a great way to try out some cool ideas. I'm going to work on the police lights, and the Bike Turn signal. The Turn signal would be great to light up a runway.

Like its 15 for the knight rider circuit, but for 15 bucks, i can make 10 of them myself lol

    Re: LED/wiring thread

I found this one on youtube. Pretty impressive, I think.
The video is in Cantonese (Chinese), this guy was using a couple very small LEDs for a RG kit.
    Neat tricks:
    1) using a double sided tape to hold the components while working with them
    2) using UV Glue and UV light to complete the ball for the head ball joint

    Re: LED/wiring thread

There is no one size, it all depends on how much space you need it for in that area. Here's a cm ruler next to some of the more popular sizes. I mainly use 1206, and 804. The smallest i've gone is 603, anything smaller and i just use fiber optics.

Most people cut the ball joint off, drill out the thrusters and glue the led into the thrust. A member name Squee did the same thing on a zaku in his WIP. You should check it out.
