I concur. That one should have won the championship.

Who knows? Art is subjective after all, even if the competition has objective categories. There must have been something the judges liked the piece.

The judging panel was pretty much all guys from model magazines, and Kanetake Ebikawa, one of the mechanical designers for gundam. While i don't like the first 2 winners based on my aesthetic choices, i respect that they have the experience and know what they're doing.

Yeah we were talking about this over on the Gunpla UK facebook group, almost everyone on there was wondering why the hell this won.

I mean it's Michael Bay levels of robotic clusterfuck, but that seems to be what the GBWC judges go for these days, but hey who says GBWC has to make sense, I mean they're still calling it a world cup while excluding half of the world.

Because GBWC isn't about well executed and aesthetically well thought out builds anymore. It's more about who can put the most effort, time, and kits to form a clusterfuck of a build.

I applaud the winner and am happy for him, but GBWC has been disappointing me so much in the past few years (pretty much since 2013 when all this Michael Bay shit started) that it just turns me off from even considering entering. Honestly the 3rd place Thunderbolt Dom should have won.

It was well painted, had a well thought out theme, had a far more interesting base with different sections that incorporated scale figures, and was realistically detailed.

^I respect the work put into that kit more than the finish. The GSystem frames are a nightmare to work on lol

Been on a L-Gaim kick lately

This 1/144 resin kit is gorgeous. So rare though.

Lots of work put into it

If someone were to Digibash that image you got there, what colors would you like to see it in? Mass Production Type Blue, Char Aznable Red, Gundam Unicorn Green, or Gunpla Builder Hodge Podge

I wouldn't do that to a model that someone put all that work into. I'd rather wait to see what the builder pulls out on the build.

I am getting the FSS itch again. I worked on my Batsh last week and have been looking at some beautiful builds of it for inspiration.
