Re: Paint/Topcoat Thread. This is where to ask questions. NOT new threads.

Am using Alclad Aqua Gloss for the first time. Have to say, it is the least reactive clear coat I have used yet over my Alclad metal finishes. It has almost no effect on the underlying finishes. My stainless steel and chrome has never looked better. It appears to be a lot like Future. Great leveling and once it's cured appears to be just as tough as a good quality gloss clear acrylic.

Will be interested to hear if anyone else has used it and what they think.

Well Alclad Aqua gloss was designed solely for their metal finishes so the results show be better than other clear coats. Alclad makes a fine product. Ive used their paints for years and i love them. I love their STEEL paint. Im glad to hear that you like then as well. I'd like to see what results can be achieved by using Aqua Clear over other metal paints.

I'll try get a decent pic of some of the alclad detail on my red saber. I just posted a pic but it was under fluro so it looks crappy. I have been using some of the AK interactive Xtreme Metal lacquer as well. It's very much like Alclad but a bit cheaper.

edit.... Pic of one of the sabers legs. Still under artificial light. Will try get better pics of just some examples on plastic spoons. next time I'm in the shed painting.
