Thanks everyone! This kind of paint job is actually photogenic..in the sense that it looks way better in photos than it does in real life! This is my 1st time using an airbrush after all, so i did expect a lot of errors. I'll post up more pictures soon. For now, do give my blog (link in my sig) a look to see my previous work.

Cheers!

Coming to think of it, what color did you use while you were assembling it?

Thank you for your comments!

The green parts were done this way:
spray can chrome > airbrushed 3 coats about 60% tamiya clear green + 40% tamiya clear yellow acrylic > shaded 100% clear green around edges/panel lines > 3 clear coats of Future
The whites are Mr. Hobby gloss white and the intenals are Mr. Hobby steel.

In the short time (about 8 months, this is my 6th MG kit) that i've been into gunpla, I learned that patience is the most important thing to have in this hobby. Even though it took me 2 months to get to this point for this model, I know I could have taken more time sanding and cleaning up mistakes. The next model I'll build will probably take me at least three months now, seeing how this one turned out ok but with a lot of room for improvement. It doesn't necessarily have to take that long, I know there are very skilled people out there who can achieve great finishes with little to no errors in a months time...i guess skill is inversely proportional to build time..but that just means that anyone can build a good model if they invest an ample amount of time and effort!

Update! I've finished the backpack and weapon, and have started in on the mini-dio...

http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z426/pawcesgatchalian/20120918_120701.jpg

The base is made of parts from busted floppy drives hot glued together to form a maintenance bay. I imagine it to be a scene from inside a ship where the Desolator team is preping for a mission.

http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z426/pawcesgatchalian/20120918_120454.jpg

The mini figs are from a tabletop war game called MageKnight which I used to play with my brothers a few years back. The scale is a bit off- they're 1.5x the height of the pilot that came with the kit - but i think it still works and the kampfer still looks like a giant robot. I'll be sculpting and repainting the little guys to make them match the theme a bit more.

The Kampfer Desolator runs on A.I., and it is getting some last minute tweaks before the mission.

These guys will be reviewing some maps and recon photos on a desk.

http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z426/pawcesgatchalian/20120918_120406.jpg

This droid will also be tagging along to provide tech support.

stay tuned!

MY... Goodness!
its- its beautiful!!!
I thought Kampfer was cool enough as is but those fuses on the shoulders as radioactive cylinders is just amazing! Personally I think an orange and yellow color scheme. but the metallic green is sweet!
and those cords... sweet mercy!

Thank you for your comments! Yes this is the Master Grade Kampfer 1/100 scale. Its actually the 30th anniversary kit, which comes with extra runners of clear parts. I used those to double up the shoulder armors and to build the backpack.
