Hi! Im Jay, new here. Recently got into Gundam after remembering it from my childhood through a cool pic i saw of a kit someone built on the internet, (that was less than a month ago! haha), since then I've become quite obsessed, and here is my first attempt at a build, with the exception of a few that i snapped together as a child, I'm new to modelling, but I'm happy with the way everything came out. I'll happily listen to any constructive criticism from more experienced builders, and if you have ay questions please ask! x)

I am currently halfway through my next build, RG 00 Raiser

Looking forward to speaking to you/hearing your comments!

oh wow! THAT IS WONDERFUL! are you sure you're new at this? maybe in a past live you were a master model builder and some of that talent carried over hahaha. excellent work man. both on the kit and the photography and posting plenty of pics. most people who decide to do a weathered kit go WAY WAY WAAAYYY overboard with the weathering. good job finding that not to much not to little sweet spot. oh and welcome to the forums by the way.

Hi Zaku, your comment has flattered me dead. Thank you :).
And yes, completely new haha, i just got super sucked in, I pretty much lived on YouTube watching tutorials. There are a few imperfections, like the feet aren't weathered consistent to the rest of the kit, this was because by the time i had finished i was way more confident with the weathering then where i started, but i can go back and add more to them later!

Nice diorama set up, the metal technique is fantastic, 40k background?

Thanks Meijin!

Hey Solarninja! For the base i used some drywall filler slabbed onto an old dvd, then PVA glue and sand, then paint, for the barbed wire i followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2sTUV1UFU8
and then did a bit dry brushing with some dark grey, i might matt coat the barbed wire too, i'll try it on a little test piece first.

I approved your original post. Sometimes the board auto moderates posts from new members. It stops doing that after 10 posts.

Cool build. Sometimes the most ingenious ideas are the simplest one. I like the CD as a base thing, great idea. You are right they fit the 1/144th perfectly.

Thanks gundam monkey. Just finished building a moon diorama for the rg 00 raiser I'm working on, thinking about starting a wip thread for it.
