hey people!
just wanted to share my latest finished project, the F91 G-CANNON Ver. IDF.
started this project about a year ago and was inspired by the little war we had here in Israel back then
most of the ideas for the modding came from tanks like the balls in the back and smoke canisters. not a lot of markings, the IDF keeps it simple.
this kit is kinda a big step for me in improving my skills, (i know i missed a seem line or two..) so... would really appreciate your thoughts about it.

Sweet customization, man. Like the work that you put into it. Kind of reminds me of an Israeli Merkava.

I know my tanks, and I know a Merkava when I see one and this custom G-Cannon just screamed Merkava.

man that looks great. a few suggestions for you. the tubes on the shoulder armor have fuzz on the inside from where you cut them. that could use some clean up and some black paint down the inside of them. and the backs of the knees where the joint is could use some paint to make it look more mechanical there. and the inside of the forehead camera could use some paint. and the vulcans could use some paint. some metallic for the barrels and some black to give them depth or you could take a tiny drill bit and drill them out to look even better. other than that it looks very good and your mods look really nice.

zaku, other than the knee joints which are painted you are right, and will be sure to take notice about these things in my next projects, after all i am still learning...
thanks for the tips!

i see that they are painted tan but i was suggesting you paint them in grey or something to separate them around the circular parts. it would make them look more mechanical. but yea i get you. im no pro myself. just some ideas. the kit looks very good nice work again.

Looks really great man! I like the mods a lot. I'm no pro myself but maybe you could do just a bit of weathering on your edges. I saw the gun had some great scratches, so maybe the mech itself got a little dinged up too. It'll just bring the pieces that much closer together. I really like the work you did with the small chains on the outside of the calves. Keep it up man! Looking awesome!

thank you Wearlouder! i did some pre-shading, they are not very visible in the photo but i was going for the cleaner look because i dont feel skilled enough yet for heavy weathering and battle damage... need more practice...

Awesome paint job on this. I like the subtle pre-shading, especially in that color.

On a side note, check out Major Williams' blog on weathering (http://majorwilliams.blogspot.com/2011/10/gundam-building-201-weathering.html) if you plan to do that in the future. His salt weathering is insanely good. I've only partially tried it on a scrap piece of plastic, and it already looked convincing.

That is a top build well done. I like the pre shading and love the small chain on the smoke cans. Are the big rivets your mods or part of the kit?

thanks guys! the rivets were not a part of the kit... this is how the kit looks out of the box:

and about that salt weathering...

Ooh ooh that car is fantastic, i need to try that. So are you going to let me know how you made the rivets?

That's awesome. I think those more military colors do very well with that weathering technique. Looks like they've been in the battlefield for years.

its a very easy method! this car was my first time trying it! about the rivets... did it by cutting styrene rods and glueing them on...but i really need to find another way to do it!
