Welcome to my half blog, half model showcase.

I'm going to open this by posting a few pics of my previous work, they're all in the cabinets at the moment, so excuse the glare. If you look close enough you might be able to see my spikey head over the camera in the glass.

Anyway, this is just a brief overview, if anyone wants to see anything in a little more detail I can grab it out and snap a few shots for you. Nothing fancy though I'm working with either my phone, or an normal camera if I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I don't have a good photography setup yet.

Anyway on with the show (Warning images may be a bit large, sorry but there aren't any spoiler tags on here)

1/60 Neograde - Nu Gundam
Had to disconnect the magnetic fin funnels so it'd fit in the cabinet :(

There are a few other kits that I really hated that just got thrown back in their boxes that I also own (looking at you V-Dash gundam and Crossbone Full Cloth). But everything shown is either painted or on my random "what should I paint next" list.

Great collection! You have the same cabinet as me, but yours look much more impressive. If you wanna stuff even more kits in it, I have 'invented' an 'invicible flying mode holding system'...great name for such an easy thing.:) I'm looking forward to see your future works!

Well I didn't have a problem with the actual paints as much as the primers, which all went in the bin and got replaced with alclad. Most of the normal paints are still left over from my orders post-disagreement. I bought enough to last a long time which is why I got annoyed when they didn't show up. But hey that's all in the past now, I hear he's improved his service quite a bit although I haven't bought anything else yet.

But anyway I'm getting too old for paint based Internet drama now. lol

Its good to see you again Squee.

Thanks! You really can't go wrong with the detolf unless you're displaying ultra huge stuff like the neo zeong or dendrobium.

Thanks DMD, I finished this a little before the official release of the phenex so there are some minor differences in the v-fin, and of course the much darker, nub free paint job.

I say to hell with it and go all out on that PG Unicorn, RAMIREN! Though, as much as PG's cost, I can understand holding back on some things. It would suck to accidentally mess something up >.<

I think it would look just fine with a simple topcoat + decals. No shame in that. ^^

That's a heckuva display case you've got there, as well.

VERY VERY NICE!!!!!!! I really like your Gundam Kai!!! May I ask what brand of paint you used to get that finish???

Thank you!

I prime with alclad microfiller primers, colours are plamo colour and metallics are alclad. These all come from UK retailers so they're pretty cheap, importing them might be expensive though if you live elsewhere. Plamo colour's regular paints are great but avoid their primers, their customer service was pretty bad when I bought from them previously but I've heard they've since improved.

I've almost finished this 1/100 Advanced Hazel conversion kit. It's been a fairly straight forward build. I decided to go with the hazel custom colours rather than the normal titans scheme just out of personal preference more than anything. I'm just waiting on the main marking decals which should be here in a week or so, and I have a few minor paint apps to fix on the shoulders, then I'm done.

The kit comes with both a hazel and an advanced hazel head, I kinda prefer the regular hazel one right now, my only issue is, it comes with a shield but no mounting mechanism to attach it to the arm, so I'm going to have to get creative or just glue it on. :/

I think the problem with the shield is they copied it directly from the Resin kit. If you buy it that way, you have to order the shield separately. Too bad you can't have it riding it like gamera did w/ the 1/144 XD

Man, I'd totally do that if it came with a booster shield, the fact it comes with only the regular shield was pretty disapointing, but at the time I bought it, it was the only way to get a hazel in 1/100. I was considering picking up that new third party hazel that's coming out just so I could get a 1/100 booster shield for this one. I'm going to have a look at my GM Quel and see if that shield connector will work.

But for now I'm just kicking back and waiting for the decals to turn up.

I'm not sure when I'm going to start work on the Ligers, I finished a Blade Liger - Bang Ver, last month so I'm a little burned out on zoids right now. Maybe in a month or two I'll get on it.

It's been a while since I posted anything, uni's been hectic, I attempted to enter the kotobukiya frame arms girl contest but didn't manage to get my entry finished in time because of exams, anyway I finished her tonight. I decided to go for a kitbash between the frame arms Hresvelga=Altr and the Stylet since it's the only F.A.G kit you can actually get without paying scalpers megabux.

Anyway, it's almost 10pm so the lighting sucks but here she is:

16318
She has two obscenely huge scythes that transform in to axes.

16319
I cast the clear bit on her head from clear resin and hit it with some tamiya pearl clearcoat followed by clear blue. This is the first time I've done any sort of resin casting and it turned out pretty good.

16320
The backpack was shortened and made slightly more streamlined, vents were added and I practically had to hand sculpt the entire inner section of her lower legs so it could join up with the parts from the original kit.

16321
I painted all the flesh colours to give her a slightly paler look, it's my first time airbrushing flesh.

16322
Some of the extra accessories, the blades can slot in to the forearms or hind legs, and I made a spear attatchment that can replace the scythe head, she also comes with another three faces.

I'm going to work on a really simple base for her since the plastic stand she comes with isn't really up to the job of holding her weight, but other than that she's pretty much done, it's just a shame I'm 16 days too late.

Thanks, I used a slow curing resin, the shape of the mold isn't very complex either which ment I got away with only one surface bubble, which I filled with superglue and sanded before painting.

That looks great! Going off the other objects on the desk, it looks like it has a large wingspan!

Thanks! From the tips of the wings it measures about 24" or 60cm, so it's pretty huge, the main issue is the weight though, all that resin on the back makes it quite heavy. I've had to rebuild the support for the base to take the weight and stop it toppling in a mild breeze. I could only get generic third party 1/60 bases, because bandai in their infinite wisdom doesn't make one for the WZC, so I've had to scratch build around a connector that only loosely fits the gundam in the first place.

Thanks, that's pretty much why I bought it, I wanted a 1/60 wing but I hate the WZC's wings. I have no idea what I'm going to do with a set of spare wings, a head and twin buster rifle though.

Painting and decals on the wing ver ka are pretty much done with the exception of the lenses on the arms and scope. I need to wire up the leds and think of a way to combine those two bases. I also need to decorate the base some how but I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any good ideas for that.

As an aside, the decals that came with this thing are beyond awful, I ended up using ones left over from my neograde nu gundam for most of the caution markings. They refused to come off the backing paper and when they did either tore or the text rubbed off, super disappointing for a G-system kit.

I just straight painted it with lacquers, the paint isn't in any danger of coming off now that everything is assembled, and it sticks really well. If I'd built the kit back up again normally after painting the paint would have cracked off because you have to fold the rubber down to put the inner frame back in, I just didn't paint that section of the inner frame since you can't see it anyway. I had to get a second set of hands to help me remove the lower skirt armour section which was slightly nerve racking but other than that it was just a case of leaving it in place and painting it.

I've got something a bit different to show off today. I finished this 1/8 statue of Sinon from Sword Art Online 2's Phantom Bullet Arc, aka her gun gale online avatar.

Just bare in mind that this is my first anime garage kit ever, so I've had to attempt a ton of new stuff like skin tones, shading cloth, pinning really tricky components like the scarf etc, plus I switched most of my paints out for Mr Color which further complicated things. Anyway I've tried my best but it's not perfect. This kit is based on a pre-painted statue from kotobukiya, the colours on that were super bright where as her anime colours were a little darker with less white showing in the hair, so I opted for something closer to her anime look.

Anyway, I hope you like it, let me know what you think.

Hmm... the skin tone is on point, but the hair needs to be a tad shade darker (then again Sinon's hair color is difficult to replicate). The green is also off for the jacket and pants, but I'm going off of other figures such as these:

However, since this was your first painting an anime figure, not bad. Not bad at all.

I like the color choices, it makes it your own interpretation of the design. Its pretty common in the gk world. Are the eyebrows decals as well? That edge around the cut is pretty noticeable.

Thanks for the feedback, you're spot on, replicating her hair is a complete pain, in the anime it has her hair entirely green with blue shading, the figures show her with much paler green hair and blue tips like it's dyed. I opted for a mixture of both going with a medium green with blue shading to the tips. As for the green that was intentional, they gave me a bunch of reference pics with the kit and I just felt that the darker green from the anime was a much better fit. Thanks again for the feedback and the kind words. :D

Thanks, I was going for something in between the anime and the original kit, I wasn't aware it was common though I kinda assumed they'd be all about anime accuracy for some reason. The eyebrows are decals, unfortunately they aren't precut, at the time I took these pics though I hadn't used any decal soft as I was waiting for some glue to dry first, once I've done that it should hopefully sort that out.

Yea if you check out any of the HK boards, or even the E2046 galleries, there are a bunch of custom versions.

Cool, I'll check them out.

I went in with some decal soft and it reacted really badly with the decals and completely destroyed them, luckily they give you a second set. I just spent forever cutting them out this time so there's no excess film and it looks much better now. I remember you ordered a Delta-Kai from GK-Model so you might want to test out your decal solutions beforehand when you come to work on them.

They didn't give me any decals with it sadly, they were just the middleman between model legends. I ended up buying them from samueldecals, so i should be okay. That sucks man. :/

Well, I mowed through this kit super quickly, here's a 1/10 scale Protoman (Blues) from Kotobukiya. I just did some seam removal and a straight paint job so I have something to pose alongside my Megaman.

Here's a little custom I threw together for the GM group build over on /toy/.

The rules are you have to use a kit with GM in the name and it has to use at least 50% of the original kit, so I made this guy with various bits mostly from a GM Cardigan and a Jegan. The Radome came from an old resin GP03 Blossom resin kit, the top half of the beam cannon and the beam spray gun came from the mega beam launcher weapons set. The grenade launcher was cobbled together from the cardigan's original beam machine gun, the grenade packs on the legs are from the MG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam. I really wanted to do something with the backpack from the Jegan, but since I had all the weapons on the cardigan's back I decided to make it in to a point defence turret, some simple mods also allowed me to turn it into a support flier.

Point defense turret. I like that. Think I'll do the same to my own tri-barrel gun from the Customize Campaign.

I keep looking at that turret you modded there. Just have to say that I really like the idea. It keeps growing on me every minute. Lol

Great job!

Dangit...now I'm thinking I could kitbash an "Axton Gundam" since I got two of those Customize Campaign guns just lying around. Gemini Turrets! Haha

Yep, that worked out quite well. Gemini Saber Turrets a la Borderlands 2. Fires three kinds of ammo...green for corrosive, pink for incendiary and yellow for...shock, I guess. That should be blue. I just don't have any spare blue beam saber blades lying around. Haha. Now I just need to mount rocket pods and Phalanx bubble shield emitters on these then kitbash a Gunpla to match.

Thanks, Ramiren. Your inspiration was phenomenal!

Oh, wait...since I've got a pair of yellow beam sabers mounted there anyway, I guess they can fire explosive rounds instead of shock. Explosive damage appears as yellow in Borderlands 2 after all.

Wow, I never expected someone to get so hyped over it.

Glad you liked the idea. :D

Just finished this GK of Futaba Sakura from Persona 5, I took a few liberties with her colour scheme, all her artwork shows her in a pure black getup. In game her clothes kinda shift between black and blue with green tinges, some of her artwork showed those green liquid looking areas and some didn't so I just went with the green since it looks more interesting.

This is the first kit I've finished in about a year now, I'm looking forward to getting back to building some gunpla now that I've finished University and have some time to spare.

Nice, I still have to work on a resin sophitia kit I have. I am liking that bronzish color you used. The eyes also look really good. I really need to finish up some of this gunpla I have and work on my resin figure kit. lol. Any shots of the goggles on her head?

Thanks, here's a few shots of the goggles, they're designed to move down over the head if you want, but there's a recess in her hair for them that'd look weird if you displayed her like that, plus I glued her glasses on since they're terrifyingly flimsy.

Finished a really quick, basic paint job on a 1/100 graze I've had sitting around for ages. Didn't do anything fancy, just swapped the green out for a slightly brighter green.

Long time no post.

I can't really say I've worked on much since I've been gone, I've finished a garage kit of Bass.EXE from megaman battle network that I'll probably post up a little later. My only other project I finished last night was this PG Strike Freedom with a Dream Cast dress-up kit that's kept me busy for the last two months or so. Anyway apologies for the crappy photography, trying to get a decent picture of this guy was a nightmare, I mean my photobooth is big, but he still wouldn't fit.
