Hey guys, I need some help and advice. I've got about 25 dollars to work with and I don't know what kit I want to get for the contest. I have some ideas for paint schemes, but no clue what kit to get, so please help me out here!!!

Hmmm... well you could get a HGAW Gundam X and use the remaining money for paint. I had an idea for using a reflective silver paint for the Satellite System panels.

Shipping is around 8-9 dollars so I need to keep it in range of around 16-17 dollars for the kit. Paints are no issue as I have a nice stockpile of them lol

The kit from GSAM is $19.51 Standard UPS ground is $10.55. Your total is only $5.06 over your budget. It is better to be flexible than rigid.

HGAW X is an awesome kit; if you can bump up your budget a bit, you should get it. Probably the best HG of 2010.

I would but it's a 25 dollar gift card (and me being a jobless college student) I don't have the extra two dollars

Another option would be the HGUC Gouf Custom; it's price on GSAM is $14.09. Shipping is still $10.55, so your total is $24.65.

Yeah, but I'd like to get something I have not built before. Something new, something eye catching.

Well I'm out of ideas. If you have one those credit gift cards of say... $10, you could expand your options. I had the same situation when I got my HGAW X. I had a $50 card and decided to use it to get a new Master Grade kit. But since my old Wind Waker copy was not working, I decided to get the X and use the remaining credit to get another Wind Waker. Remember, keep your options open.

What I do whenever I get the money for Gunpla is I make a comparison chart. I weigh out the pros and cons of the kit, the price (including shipping) based on my knowledge of the kit. I write it note style.
For ex.
I. RX-178 Gundam Mk.II
A) MG RX-178 Gundam Mk.II ver. 2.0
*Total:$52.90
*Pros
-Amazing articulation and balance
-Stand included (AEUG ver only)
*Cons
-more complex kit
-same price as MG Wing

Okay, here's what I'm definitely looking at:
HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam
HG 1/144 Beginning Gundam
HG 1/144 Ground Gundam.
HG 1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam

I will be painting whatever kit I get, but as to what the paint is will be a mystery, mwahahahaha!

My little brother built the HG Destiny. It's decent, but the wings have serious weight issues.

I'd go with Ground. It's an 08th MS Team model, nuff said. Also HGFC Nobel gundam is an option as well.

If you want to see a Ground Gundam up close, I have one.
